Self Defense Course


4 Week Course:
Meeting Sundays from 3:30p - 5:30p; March 4, 11, 18 and 25
$129 per person

This program will introduce participants to various self defense skills including effective and practical strikes, blocks, kicks, strangles, joint attacks and controlling skills.  Participants will learn self defense skills against various simulated attacks by safely practicing with other participants.  The participants will practice from standing positions and positions on the ground (on safe mats.)

The participants will learn skills to respond with varying levels of force.

As most self defense situations involve defending on the ground, participants will be introduced to tactics to prevent injury during a fall to the ground.

Sessions will include:

Discussions on the essential elements of self defense: Fitness, Surprise and Techniques

Exploration of the use of varying and reasonable force and techniques for different situations

Body mechanics and exercises to improve the effectiveness of self defense techniques

INSTRUCTOR BIO:

Program presented by Sensei David Shatto of Jutsu Practical Self Defense. Sensei has instructed practical self defense classes for over thirty years and has trained thousands of individuals in self defense and various martial arts. Sensei is a certified personal trainer and college physical education instructor in addition to holding multiple black belts including a black belt in Judo and a fourth degree black belt in Jujutsu.
