What Beginners Can Expect at an Ethos Fitness Studio Class

If you're looking to join a fitness studio in or near Carlisle, PA, we're so glad you're here! We know how it can sometimes be intimidating to sign up for a class you've never done before  at a fitness studio you've never been to. We're here to share all you need to know about choosing the best first class for you and what to bring and wear to class, so you feel comfortable and excited to get started with your fitness journey.

How to Choose a Fitness Class

At Ethos, we offer a variety of yoga, Zumba®, and fitness group classes, so you have a few options when choosing a class.

If you're looking for a yoga class, we recommend starting with Beginner Yoga, Gentle Yoga, or Foundational Yoga. Each class moves at a slower pace so you can easily follow along with one of our certified instructors. These classes will explore the basics of yoga and introduce you to connecting your breath with your body movement. 

For those looking for a Zumba® class, we recommend you jump right into our classes that pull together Latin and international music with both slow and fast rhythms.

If you're looking for a fitness class, we have quite the variety to choose from! For beginners, we recommend trying our Body Works or SculptU classes. Body Works will introduce you to the fundamentals of weight training to prepare you for faster-paced classes and build cardio endurance. SculptU will tone muscles of specific groups for full-body strengthening.

How to Sign Up For a Fitness, Yoga, or Zumba Class

View our class schedule and find the class you'd like to join. Just drop in about 15 minutes before so we can get you signed up and show you around or if you'd like to register and create an account, view our schedule and select "Sign Up Now" for the class you want. You'll be asked to create an account with us. You can also download the Mindbody App to see our class schedule and register on-the-go!

What to Bring and Wear to Class

What to Bring:

  • Water bottle

  • A smile!

  • We'll provide all the equipment you need. If you'd like to bring your own yoga mat, blocks, straps, towel, etc - you are more than welcome to.

What to Wear:

  • Comfortable clothing that you can move in - No need to buy any special yoga or workout clothing and gear

  • For some classes, you'll leave sneakers in our lobby
